Our Easter Break
Bassenfell Manor is a large country house in the Lake District near the shores of Lake Bassenthwaite. It is about 8 miles north of Keswick.
For the last 7 years our church family, plus a variety of our friends and relatives, have gone for a short holiday there at Easter time.
About 35 of us trek across the A69 to spend four days hanging out together and enjoying the countryside and each other's company. We go for some short walks that all the family can go on, and we often throw in a really stiff walk for the adventurous ones, while others may choose to go on a boat ride on Derwent Water, sample one of the many fine coffee shops, or whatever they like!
The manor house is warm and comfortable, and all the food is provided. Our Pastor leads a short devotions time each evening. As one of our regulars has often said, "This holiday just keeps getting better and better!"
You can see some of the pictures from previous holidays here.
